MODELE DEPOSE

Description

The corkscrew with toothed rack is also called in England King screw or the Rack and pinion of a model patented at the 19th century. On oldest the toothed rack was punt, it was replaced by a ringed round stem, like this model. The crosspiece on top is used to insert the worm, and the frame helps position it. The handle on the side is attached to rack-and-pinion gearing, all of which work together to easily lift the cork.

This French model is surely a copy. Patented in 1930 per George-Pierre Creuse and manufactured by the Jean Boué factory. Indeed the initial JB are centered in a star of David on the original corkscrews.
