Description |
This is one of the most famous and well known of the French compound lever corkscrews. It was invented by Jules Bart of Nancy and the patent was registered in 1919. This example dates from around the 1960´s.The name ZIG ZAG is marked on both sides of the pulling handle. On the oval plate of the shaft on one side the following wording is given: Bte S.G.D.G. Fr.&Et M&M DEP, with the back is engraved number 61 it represents the year of manufacture (1961). The top two arm links include two cap lifters. The shears has 8 arm links. The bottom ring centralises on the top of the bottle neck and acts as a support by cork extraction. It has a central solid cut worm. |
