Description |
Italian corkscrew. In 1891, Heinrich Ehrhart patented a locking collar. A locking collar that had an elongated hole on the underside and a "nose" on the front. The elongated hole allows the handle "nose" to drop down and lock the handle when it is threaded up to the top of the shank. When the nose comes in contact with the top of the frame, it is pushed up causing the handle to "unlock". Continuous turning will then extract the cork. |
